Are things frosty where you live? I've been bundling up. This vintage wool coat I found sometime in January or February of 2013. I've worn it often since then, and although the arms are a little short (typical of me and coats), these hand-warmers keep my wrists covered - as well as keeping me from looking like I'm growing out of my clothes.

I hope everyone who's celebrating Thanksgiving is looking forward to it as much as I am. I've found that November can be a difficult month, especially if the changing seasons make you sad. Thanksgiving seems like a bright spot at the end of a tunnel. I won't be responsible for making Thanksgiving dinner, but I want to try some seasonal recipes all the same. I've never cooked or baked with fresh cranberries before, but I'm itching to try it. Do you have any favorite cranberry recipes?

  1. Beautiful cat and I like the handwarmers, too. This month was hard for me; though the weather hasn't gotten too gloomy yet, I'm dreading the cold, dark days of mid-winter so much that it's already started to take a psychological toll. I'm trying to find positive, productive things to do indoors.

    1. I've talked to a number of people who've struggled this month, and I've only realized recently that last November was rough too. I've been trying the same thing. I hope it goes well for you!

  2. What a lovely outfit! The colours are gorgeous- I love navy and dark red, so together they always make a winning combination in my book.
Also, that cat is utterly adorable.

    1. Thanks so much, Emily. I love this cat - he has two siblings with almost identical markings. I wish I could move them into my home, but we're not allowed to have pets where we live.

  3. I used to hate cranberries when I was a kid (or anything bitter, really), but I've grown to love them so much over the past few years. Last winter I made a really tasty goat cheese cheesecake with a cranberry compote over the top, and it turned out so well! Definitely recommend it for a not too sweet dessert option.
Love the outfit, navy and cranberry or burgundy are such a beautiful combination. That coat was a great find.

    1. That sounds absolutely amazing! Was it difficult to make? And thank you - I love burgundy and navy too - we used those colors in our wedding.

    2. Not especially, although it helps if you have a springform pan - makes it much easier to get the cheesecake out of the pan.

  4. Ahh, I have the same problem with the arms of coats and sweaters! I wear a lot of wool and my trick is to pull on it when it's wet. It's a fun project for couples ;) Anyways, I just love your pictures. You have a way with lighting and capturing the season, I especially like the one with the frost taking over the leaves. And what an adorable cat!

  7. Your pictures are so pretty ♥ I don't like autumn much (or rather: I don't like cold temperatures) but still have to admit that autumn colors are beautiful, and it's a really great idea to mix those warmer hues with blue. The cat has such a funny and distinct face!
