"Anne reached the main road, for being confronted halfway down the lane with a golden frenzy of wind-stirred buttercups and a glory of wild roses, Anne promptly and liberally garlanded her hat with a heavy wreath of them. Whatever other people might have thought of the result it satisfied Anne, and she tripped gaily down the road, holding her ruddy head with its decoration of pink and yellow very proudly."
- Anne Of Green Gables, by Lucy Maud MontgomeryFor about two years, I dyed my hair dark. It was a lot of fun, but after awhile I decided to return to my natural hair color. It's been a long process, but it's great to see the true color of my hair again.
Now that so much of my natural hair has grown out, I'm having trouble deciding what color it is. It's not that blonde anymore - although it looks blonde in some light. I might call it light brown. Here, it looks like a light auburn, but in other light it looks ashy. Some people might call it "mousy," but I don't care for that term - it's so dismissive! Maybe I'll just say it's blondette. :-)
In the past few days, some of the darkness in my life has been lifting, and I finally feel that I'm on a path to healing. I can't help but think of spring arriving soon. I don't know what the future holds, but right now I'm enjoying good health and a feeling of peace.
I hope you all are having a peaceful February!
