Ponderosa Pines

The Flying Clubhouse: Ponderosa PinesThe Flying Clubhouse: Ponderosa PinesThe Flying Clubhouse: Ponderosa PinesThe Flying Clubhouse: Ponderosa PinesThe Flying Clubhouse: Ponderosa Pines - outfitThe Flying Clubhouse: Ponderosa PinesThe Flying Clubhouse: Ponderosa PinesThis was our second morning at Grand Canyon National Park. Before we left for Utah and Colorado, I couldn't resist stopping and saying goodbye to the beautiful pine forests and one last overlook of the canyon. As I mentioned in a previous post, the air is scented from all the pine trees that grow along the South Rim - ponderosa, pinyon, juniper, and others.

I think my best outfits on our road trip were the breezy ones with long sleeves. It was very hot at the end of June and beginning of July, but the only time I needed a pullover was at night at the Grand Canyon. Despite the heat, long sleeves during the day kept my arms and shoulders from becoming toast. Packing two backpacks turned out to be a good decision. I brought the vintage leather one as my regular bag, and then I could slip that one into my bigger military backpack and still have room for water and cameras.

After taking these photos, we continued toward Page, AZ and beyond.
