At the end of December, Steven's father took his family on a Western Caribbean cruise. It was a five-day trip and it all happened so quickly. We had stops in Belize and Mexico. Some highlights were walking along the decks, beach time in Belize, and visiting the Maya ruins of San Gervasio in Cozumel. We thoroughly enjoyed the views and the food on the ship - which was so large, it was intimidating. This isn't much of a travelogue, but I wanted to share a few of our snapshots. The best of these are from Steven. He took the last three, including the golden sunrise photo.

One of our resolutions for 2015 was to experience new things. The resolution was both broad and vague, but the point was to get out of our comfort zone. Of course, traveling on a cruise liner was pretty comfortable, but it was a completely new experience for us. It was Steven's first time leaving the United States.

Our big road trip this summer was another part of keeping our resolution. While the cruise was planned out for us, the road trip out west was something new we had to figure out together. At the beginning of 2015, I never imagined we would cover this much ground, but we now feel more comfortable with traveling and have a (slightly) bigger idea of our world than we did last January.

Here's to 2016 and the new experiences - big and small - it will doubtlessly bring. Let's all remember to pack our sunscreen. ;-)

  1. What a lot of great traveling 2015 had for you. This seems very fun (also in the photo you remind me of Kik from Kik's Delivery Service!)
