The Biltmore Estate on Easter

Hello! I've disappeared for awhile because I've been so busy. I probably won't be blogging regularly again for a long time, but I'll be keeping this space here for sporadic thoughts and photography.

With my art keeping me busy, I haven't had much time to invest in photography, but I'm back to share our spring trip to the Biltmore Estate.

Some good friends gave us passes and we went with them on Easter. Although it was crowded, touring the house was not as hectic as usual because everyone with children was gathered on the front lawn for the Easter Egg hunt. Steven and I were so excited to see the Glamour on Board: Fashion from Titanic the Movie exhibition. Titanic is - by far - my favorite film for costumes - and I was thrilled to get a closer look at Rose's wardrobe. I'll be sharing those photos in the next post. If you're thinking of catching the exhibition, it runs until May 13, 2018.

But here are some sights in and around the Biltmore House. The day was overcast, but not as gray as my photos indicate. We spent some time waiting in long lines outside for trolleys to and from the parking lot. We didn't mind because the weather was sooo nice.

I'll be posting my Titanic costume photos in a few days. Happy spring!

  1. So lovely! I've been to the estate, but it was so busy that day that we ended up just touring the grounds. It was still a really nice experience, but I'd love to go back sometime to see the house itself. It looks so gorgeous in your photos!

    1. Thanks, Jessica! I'm not sure about you, but I don't like crowds at all! But the grounds are really beautiful and completely worth the trip.
