I may be dreading winter as a long, dark, slightly brown and pensive time, but while looking through my photos from the past few years, I found that many of my favorites were taken during the winter months. There's something about the moodiness of the light and landscape this time of year that adds an emotional depth to winter photography. I'm hoping to capture more winter drama this year, and spend more time outdoors, despite the cold and dark.
I love winter photography, the frost, the grey skies and the low sunlight which can look extra bright and yellow against the miserable backdrop. I love how you describe it, I hope you enjoy the season. Beautiful photographs here, as always.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Faye. I hope your winter is enjoyable too!
DeleteThat first photo is making me long for a nice snowfall. I must say, I'm kind of amused by your description of winter as "slightly brown." It makes sense, but I've never thought of it that way.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jessica.
DeleteI think that's why I love snow - it covers the brown, lol. :-) Snow may be a bit over-represented here, since we don't often get it, and it doesn't last long. The snow in the last picture was completely melted within a few hours of falling!
I dread the cold and dark of winter too! But yes, my favourite photos from 2013 were taken around christmas time in the snow! It really does make for magical moments (you know when it's not dark like it is 75% of the time!) Beautiful photos! xx

For sure winter bring special mood, which you can't take from some "green sunny days".
