Here are some photos from late October. I had the opportunity to visit the Rough Ridge trail off the Blue Ridge Parkway and see this beautiful view of Grandfather Mountain and the Linn Cove Viaduct (you can see it in the distance in the first two photos). It's usually pretty brisk in late October at this elevation (4,773 at the summit) but the day of our visit was surprisingly warm - shorts and t-shirt weather. It was an amazing day for getting one last view of the bright autumn foliage.
