I wanted to share some photos from a recent visit to Grandfather Mountain - one of the tallest peaks in the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC. It's a fantastic place for views, and a popular attraction is the "Mile High Swinging Bridge," which stretches over an 80-foot chasm. Where we live, it's usually sweltering in late August, but at 5,280 it was quite chilly and breezy. It felt amazing! We didn't get the chance to do much hiking and I'd like to go back and explore some trails. Admission to the attractions on Grandfather Mountain are a little expensive at $20 for adults, but if you're in the area, it's a beautiful excursion and a great way to beat the late summer heat.
Your photos tell the story of the visit well.
