Here's my last post about our trip to the Pacific Northwest. The most awe-inspiring part of our vacation was Mount St. Helens - more specifically, the view from the Johnston Ridge Observatory. It was an incredibly peaceful place in spite of the many signs of the devastating 1980 eruption. The ridge was cold and windy, and I needed to wear the two jackets I packed. Steven doesn't like heights and wasn't too excited about the elevation and winding mountain roads, but he loved the view.
This was such an amazing place to visit and I have some books about Mount St. Helens and the 1980 eruption event on my to read list.
